Individual Activity for Social Services CPD Points
This short course programme is approved by the SACSSP as an individual activity for social services professionals.
Upon successful completion of the course, a person must submit a copy of their course certificate and attendance accompanied by a motivation to the SACSSP.
A person can earn 5-20 CPD points once the SACSSP has approved one's submission of the required documents.
The Link between Animal Abuse and Domestic Violence – a course for social workers and social auxiliary workers.
The online course, The Link between Animal Abuse and Domestic Violence, published by the Animal Voice Academy, reflects our modern understanding of the relationship between ourselves and animals.
Specially designed, in this instance, for professionals in the Social Services, this course includes a specific focus on The Link between Animal Abuse and Human Violence, examining the connections between:
- animal abuse and child abuse
- animal abuse and domestic violence
Empathy erosion is considered by social scientists to be at the root of the escalating levels of violence we witness in the world today. This course identifies the causes of empathy erosion and how to rebuild empathy into our daily lives.
As professionals whose work often involves contact with those who have been abused as well as the abusers themselves, this course will be of particular interest to child protection personnel, welfare workers, community health workers, law enforcement personnel and animal protection officers, providing a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics at play to the benefit of families, communities and society at large.
